A Flowery Path

[ I was walking down the path ]

"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
- Edgar Allan Poe

Hullo, hullo. October has finally arrived again. I'd like to share a piece of art that I had just finished today (finally). It was a tribute to a dream I once had, the scenery was a serene afternoon near a lake, with gorgeous, blooming bougainvillaeas to my left and right. Well, of course, the scenery was prettier than pictured above, but, oh, well, I've tried.

Dreams, especially the ones occurred during sleep, can be obscure. It makes me wonder if there are any specific message or meaning that it tries to convey. I'm no expert in dreams, and I never really read any theories about them, but still, a lot of times I try to guess the meaning. The dream above is an example.

I had a job interview and it went well. Several days later, I dreamed of strolling nearby a lake, in a beautiful, serene afternoon. There were bougainvillaeas along the walls. I followed the path and eventually, I arrived in a resort-kind-of place. It was a nice place. I remember trying to run during the walk, but my feet felt heavy and I could only take one large steps at a time. I wanted to run because I was afraid of walking alone, and it was almost twilight.

So, I concluded that dream was some kind of a good omen for that job interview. And I did get the job, even though the events that occurred during the job were not pleasant. Yet, I wondered again, was the message about that particular job? Or did it mean that I'm walking in the right path and there are things that are meant for me, waiting up ahead and now I just need to do things that I can do?
